Cyberabad Police Launches 12 Ambulances

The Cyberabad Police and the Covid-19 Control Room of the Society for Cyberabad Security Council (SCSC) today launched 12 ambulances to address the rising problem of ambulance shortage in Telangana's capital city.

Cyberabad Commissioner of Police V C Sajjanar and SCSC General Secretary Krishna Yedula flagged off all 12 ambulances at a brief function held at the Cyberabad Police Commissionerate office, in Gachibowli.

Speaking on the occasion, Sajjanar said, "These 12 ambulances will offer free service to all those in need. They will offer 24x7 service starting now for the people of the entire city. People are urged to utilise these services for both Covid-19-related and other medical emergencies - pregnant women, cardiac patients, diabetic patients, cancer patients and those needing immediate dialysis are also entitled to the services."

"Ambulance support has become a more critical service than ever before. Apart from transporting patients, they are useful in providing life-saving first aid and various types of life support. These 12 ambulances have been released keeping these facts in mind. Member companies of the SCSC, including
Raheja Mindspace, Salarpuria Sattva Knowledge Park, DLF, Pheonix, Divyashree Orion, Ascendas, Garcorp, Waverock, Google, TCS, and StanPlus, have helped us acquire the ambulances. We extend our thanks to them for their support," he explained.

The CP also warned ambulance operators against fleecing patients and demanding abnormal charges.

Urging the public to report any such operators, he added, "Ambulance operators indulging in such inhuman activities will be booked under the appropriate Acts and will be punished severely. This is not the time to cheat people. People are suffering. Ambulance operators should not make their customers suffer at a time of such crisis."

SCSC General Secretary Krishna Yedula too spoke at the program, and reaffirmed what Sajjanar said.

He expressed his hope that the initiative would help the citizens of Hyderabad and would give them some measure of relief in these troubled times, and said, "The Cyberabad Covid-19 Control Room is working day and night to ensure that all plasma requests are fulfilled. The passionate volunteers from the SCSC as well as from various NGOs are leaving no stone unturned to serve the needy in every possible way. A dedicated team is catering to the needs of patients needing plasma. Now, a similar team will monitor ambulance services as well."

The public is requested to call the ambulance only after securing a bed at a hospital to make the process most time-efficient. This will allow more people to avail themselves of the service.

The SCSC and the Cyberabad police have been working closely to devise programs to help the public through the pandemic since last year.
